Louisville Slugger is fastpitch softball!
We were the first company to create bats and gloves designed specifically for girls and women. We did it because of our love for the game. Our R&D team worked with players who were at the very top of fastpitch softball - players like 2-time Olympic Gold Medalist Dot Richardson and 3-time Gold Medal winner Lisa Fernandez.
We’ve continued to work with the game’s elite players and coaches through the years. Today we design and develop softball’s best products by working with leaders like two-time Olympic medalist and ESPN commentator Jessica Mendoza, 11-time NCAA National Champion coaching legend Sue Enquist, and top college programs. Our product developers gain invaluable insight from those experienced and knowledgeable softball people. We combine that insight with our industry leading technology to create high performance fastpitch equipment. Playing with the best means athletes who use Louisville Slugger can be the best!
Of course, we’ve been making players great for nearly 130 years. We’ve made more than 100 million bats since our first one in 1884. Players like Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, Mickey Mantle, Roberto Clemente and Cal Ripken Jr. all swung Slugger bats. Today’s greats do too, including Derek Jeter and Josh Hamilton. We take pride in the fact that Louisville Slugger is the #1 Bat in Major League Baseball®.
We are also proud to sponsor top collegiate women’s softball programs in NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and NJCAA, and also be the Official Bat of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
